Shila Boys Gang Members Arrested in Police Operation

The Adamawa police have successfully apprehended three members of a notorious gang group known as the "Shila boys" in Yola for their involvement in alleged robbery. This significant development was confirmed by the police spokesman in Adamawa, Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement released on Saturday in Yola.

Nguroje stated that the police had received credible information regarding the activities of five individuals who were reportedly robbing people along Bishop Street in the Jimeta area of Yola during the early hours of the day. Upon arriving at the scene, the suspects violently attacked the police officers with machetes and knives in an attempt to evade arrest.

In response to the aggressive resistance, the police officers were forced to use minimum force to subdue the suspects, resulting in the successful arrest of three individuals, while two others managed to escape. The recovered items from the scene included machetes, knives, ATM cards, phones, and a tricycle, all of which will serve as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.

The arrested suspects are currently cooperating with the authorities to provide valuable information that will aid in furthering the investigation. The Adamawa police remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of the residents of Yola and will continue to take decisive action against criminal activities in the region.
